- I am currently an Interior Design student at Washington State University. Though a sophmore, I am considered a freshman in the ID program. Originally a Communications major, I discovered my passion for Interior Design when taking an introductory course on a whim.
At this point in time I am a dedicated Interior Design student. I have hopes of one day opening my own company that will take on large sclae projects like Hotels, Resturants, Cruise Ships, and University Dorms. Having grown up or experienced these places, I was either repulsed or in awe of the set-ups and want to have the chance to tackel them myslef. Right now I am inspired by Dorothy Draper, the first woman to start an official design company in the U.S. She designed with the idea that rooms should fullfill a fantasy and draw you in. She was a pioneer of colors and patterns during the 1920's when the Victorian style of dark and drab was the norm.
